Personal: San Juan Island, WA
One thing I find very difficult in my life as a photographer is remembering to document my own life. And when I do to actually edit my photos and do something with them. It is a real struggle. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. You will see snippets of my own life from here on out. Don't worry, I won't overwhelm you with photos of a Thursday evening walk around my neighborhood or a "look at what I found at the farmers market" sort of post every other day. I don't expect to get that good at documenting my own life. Ha!
So, my first go at this is going to be a lot more epic than most you will see in the future I expect. In May my husband's family took a trip to San Juan Island, Washington. When we take vacations together we call them McQuations. Get it? So, from here on out know that is what I will call said vacations. Ok, San Juan Island, as I expected, stole my heart. My first trip to Washington was in college (Seattle). I knew then and there that Washington and the Pacific Northwest would forever be my favorite. I have been lucky enough to visit this region three times now and SJI only solidified this love. I'm not sure I can even put into words what inspires this true love. Maybe it is the deep blue sea meeting mountains and rocky coasts, maybe it is the seafood, maybe it is the wildlife (saw at least three eagles), maybe the sea animals, maybe the perfect amount of ferns and evergreen trees, maybe the perfect peonies that grew everywhere (in the spring anyway)...I'll stop. You get the idea. Feel free to escape with me on this lovely Friday. Come, go on a McQuation.
